Good morning sweet souls…
I have been having a lot of deep conversations with friends lately about what we are currently up to, creating, moving into and the common theme that keeps coming up is “Am I getting this right”.
I’m not sure where we adopted this belief that there was a way to get things right in life, but I think we were all fooled into a big hoax.
Life is just happening for us each day and it gives us a blank slate to play and explore with curiosity. Yet we get so caught up about this weird perfection we think needs to exist in anything we do.
I loved this quote I landed on this morning right before settling in to write. Gotta love Dan for his raw honesty!
What is right is what feels right to YOU. The real question is, can you find the courage inside of you to really own that? I’m learning, finally at 40 years old to do so.
What I’ve learned is that what is right for me is NOT just one thing. I need the freedom to be dipping my toes into many things, following my inspiration in the moment. Maybe it’s confusing to the outside world sometimes, but if I didn’t give myself permission to do that, I would slowly die inside. So I choose to do what will keep me lit up, because I know that when I’m lit up, I can light up anyone around me. My light was dimmed for so many years of my life so I will not let that happen again.
Just like you though, I’m human and go through the same shit cycle of thinking to try to destroy any hope for me dreams 🤦🏻♀️. I recently created a new space here in Substack called The Flow Experience. It’s a vision I got of gathering women to ingite their flow of creativity, wellbeing, abundance, success and anything else they desire.
In order to let it out into the world and give it a chance to grow into what it is meant to be, I had to let it out imperfectly.
Wait for it!
But first, I built it all, then deleted it all 😩 because my left brain convinced me that I was rediculous.
Then, I overthought it for 2-3 weeks 🤯 even though EVERYONE I talked about it to was like “OMG Jenn, THIS is your offer. THIS is what you do best. It is so beautiful”.
So I stopped being a pain in my own ass (finally) and hit publish. And it’s beautiful. And I love it. And it’s imperfect. And it’s creating an impact already.
We are gathering on International Women’s Day Virtually to unleash flow and nurture our deepest desires. I hope you will join us.
One of my favourite Japanese philosophies, Wabi Sabi, reminds us that everything in life is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. It’s a great reminder to stop trying to make everything perfect and be THE thing for the rest of our lives and just let ourselves and creativity be what it is in the moment.
wrote the most amazing book called “Wabi Sabi: Japanese Wisdom for a Perfectly Imperfect life”. It is one of my favourite books.I’m so very proud of my dear friend
- who also finally put aside her perfectionism and launched an incredible new space on Substack called Crone Calling where she supports midlife+ women to follow their Crone Calling and find a new sense of purpose in their lives. All of these amazing things, that are changing people’s lives, would not exist if they would have not done the thing out of fear of not getting it right. And all of these people would be living with unfulfilled dreams and desires. We don’t deserve to live like that. We deserve to live fully, how we desire!
So now that you know that you will never get it perfectly right, what could you give yourself permission to do, create, try? What do you want to say YES to?
What I’m playing with right now is the possibility of opening a coffee shop & bookstore here locally in an old church. Is it the right thing to do and will I get it right? I have no friggin idea. Will it actually happen? No se. But it has been fun to play with the potential of it. For now I’m staying open, curious and exploring possibilities. What I know for sure is that if it’s meant for me, the universe will leave me breadcrumbs to follow. Here is the Pinterest board I have been creating to bring the vision and energy of the place to life.
I believe in you.
We are here for you.
Live your life fully. Follow your intuition and creativity. You can’t mess this up.
Lots of love xo
Jenn

🧘🏼♀️ I’m now teaching bi-weekly virtual yoga classes in The Flow Experience. This first one is this Thursday at 10am EST if you’d like to join.
Just ran across your work and I can totally resonate! I’m in the process of building an offer for group coaching and there’s a part of me that feels like a lot is on the line, when really, many of the insane things I have done like write a book at 24, literally called “The Intuition Experiment” was just that: an experiment. Leaving with your words: “All of these amazing things, that are changing people’s lives, would not exist if they would have not done the thing out of fear of not getting it right”
100 percent YES!! I love this and I'm so grateful for your gentle, endless reminders to me. When we can each lay our own imperfections out on the table, like some giant potluck of humanity, it makes life feel so much more colorful. We feel less alone and just a bit safer when we witness eachothers glorious authenticity.
